Madhya Pradesh: BJP leader robbed in Barwani
Bhopal, Jan 21 (IBNS): Unknown men robbed a Bharatiya Janata Party leader in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani town, media reports said on Monday.
According to reports, the vice-president of a local unit of the BJP, Jitendra Soni, a jeweller, was returning from the market when he was attacked by a group of men and then they robbed him.
The attackers reportedly took away gold ornaments, about 30 kg silver and cash from him.
They escaped with his car keys, reported NDTV.
A BJP leader- Manoj Thackeray- was found dead in the same town of the state on Sunday.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan attacks Congress:
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday attacked the Congress government over the deaths of two Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in the state in recent times.
Hitting out at the recently elected government in the state, Chouhan said it has made "death of BJP leaders one after another a cruel joke."
Attacking the state government, Chouhan, in his series of tweets in Hindi, said: "One after the other, the killing of BJP leaders is a matter of serious concern. The state government is not taking it seriously. It is making a cruel joke of it. Popular BJP leader Manoj Thackeray was killed in broad daylight in the state home minister's backyard."
"Criminals have become bold. The law and order situation has crumbled under the present Congress government," he said.
Chouhan said BJP workers will take to the streets if the criminals are not caught as soon as possible.
Another BJP leader killed last week:
BJP leader and civic body chairman of Mandsaur, Prahlad Bandhwar, 50, was shot last week.
Change in political paradigm of MP:
The Congress defeated the BJP in a closely fought contest to win the Assembly polls in the state late last year.
