M. Venkaiah Naidu to felicitate winners of Swachh Bharat Short Film Festival on Oct 2

New Delhi, Sept 30 (IBNS): M. Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, will be felicitating the winners of the Swachh Bharat Short Film Festival in a special felicitation programme to be held in New Delhi on Oct 2.

Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, will also be present on the occasion.

The Swachh Bharat Short Film Festival organized by the NFDC on behalf of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has received over 4000 entries from across the country in various Indian languages on the theme of the Swachh Bharat Mission.


The key objective of the Festival was to generate awareness, inspire people and include them as stakeholders in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The short films festival was a competition inviting films of duration not more than 3 minutes.

The distinguished jury, comprising of eminent theatre and film actor – producer  Vani Tripathi, award-winning filmmaker Ms. Gitanjali Rao, and celebrated advertising personality Mr. Prahlad Kakar, has selected 20 short films out of the 4346 entries.

The Directors of the top ten films would be given cash awards of INR 10 lakhs (first film), 5 lakhs (next three films) and 2 lakhs respectively (last 6 films), while the next ten would be awarded certificates. All participants would be given certificates of participation.
