Looking forward to support my friend Narendra Modi during India's G20 presidency: Joe Biden

Washington: President Joe Biden has said his nation is looking forward to supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi during India’s G20 presidency.

He said India is a strong partner of the US.

"India is a strong partner of the United States, and I look forward to supporting my friend Prime Minister Modi during India’s G20 presidency," Biden tweeted.

"Together we will advance sustainable and inclusive growth while tackling shared challenges like the climate, energy, and food crises," he said.

India on Thursday assumed the presidency of G20 for a year.

Modi said: "Our G20 priorities will be shaped in consultation with not just our G20 partners, but also our fellow-travellers in the global South, whose voice often goes unheard."

He said: " India’s G20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive."
