Agartala, Feb 13 (IBNS): Campaigning in poll-bound Tripura, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said law and order in the state is under control.

"Law and order in Uttar Pradesh is under control. Crime against women is minimal," he said while addressing a press conference here.

He said no riot incident occurred since his government came to power.

"In the past 10 months, since we came to power, no riot incident has been reported in the state," he said.

Yogi reached Tripura to campaign for the BJP which will be aiming to uproot the Left government in the state.

The Left have been ruling the state for nearly 25 years.

Assembly polls in the state will be held on Feb 18.

The BJP, which has stormed the north and northeast India in last few years, is trying to keep its footprint in the eastern state of India.

CPI-M and CPI together are having 51 out of total 60 seats in the state.
