New Delhi/IBNS: In the last leg of his two-day maiden India visit as the US President, Donald Trump on Tuesday said "the last two days have been amazing" praising Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Trump made the comment in a joint statement with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House.

Modi too hailed the US President saying, "I am happy that you came to India with your family. I am aware of your busy schedule in your country. Despite your busy schedule, you accepted our invitation. So I am grateful to you."

Though no trade deal will be inked by the two countries, Washington is set to sign a $3 billion defence deal with New Delhi on Tuesday.

After the pomp and show in Ahmedabad a day ago, Trump along with US First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday was welcomed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Trumps received the ceremonial welcome in presence of President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Following the ceremonial welcome, Trump and the US First Lady went to Rajghat and paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Melania Trump went to a Delhi government school where she was welcomed by children.

She also attended a "happiness class" at the school.

Trump and Modi praised each other during the Namaste Trump event in Ahmedabad's Motera Stadium in front of over 1 lakh crowd who had gathered at the venue to witness the event.

“We make the greatest weapons ever made: airplanes, missiles, rockets, ships. We make the best. And we’re dealing now with India. But this includes advanced air defence systems and armed and unarmed aerial vehicles,” Trump said during his speech.
