Patna, Jul 27 (IBNS) Life was disrupted in Bihar on Monday following a shutdown call by the Rashtriya Janata Dal demanding immediately release of caste census data by the Centre.

Reports said shops and educational institutions were forced to close down  while barricades were put on roads and railway tracks to disrupt transportation.

RJD chief gave the call for the shutdown amid a heightening battle for Bihar that involves an aspirant BJP that eyes the state power and the RJD-JDU-Congress combine.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted BJP's campaign for Bihar assembly polls by launching a scathing attack on the ruling Janata Dal(United) of  Nitish Kumar as well as Lalu Prasad's RJD.
