Patna, May 8 (IBNS): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday launched a scathing attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran LK Advani and party's PM nominee Narendra Modi.

Without naming the two BJP leaders,  Yadav tweeted, "Pehle guru ko roka tha, ab chele ka number hai. (Earlier I had stopped the teacher, now it is the turn of his disciple)."

Before differences cropped up between the two, Advani was seen as a a mentor to Modi.

This tweet was made in reference to  Advani's Rath Yatra in 1990 from Somnath in Gujarat after his party had withdrawn its support to the VP Singh government.

His yatra was stopped at Samastipur in north Bihar on the orders of Yadav, who was then the chief minister of the state.

Yadav also slammed the BJP over the Vranasi row and tweeted: "See my party whr everyone is working quietly for the public.See so called disciplined party how disturbed they are, blaming EC, fearing loss."
