KPLT militant killed in Assam

Guwahati, Aug 24 (IBNS): A hardcore militant of KPLT was killed during gun fight with security forces in Assam's East Karbi Anglong district on the wee hours of Wednesday, police said.

Based on a specific intelligence input, a joint operation was launched by Army and Police on the Tuesday night at Nalbarigaon area in East Karbi Anglong district.

“At around 0400 hrs, on being challenged, the Karbi militant opened fire on our troops. The security personnel opened controlled retaliatory fire and in the ensuing fire-fight, the militant was killed,” a police official said.

One 9 mm pistol along with ammunition, fired cases, one hand grenade and other war like stores were recovered from the site.
