KPLT Fin Sect apprehended in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati, Dec 29 (IBNS) : The security forces on Monday apprehended a top militant of Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger (KPLT) in Assam's Karbi Anglong district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from him.

Based on intelligence inputs, the police and the Army had jointly launched an operation at Borlangso area near Chakihola in the hill district and nabbed KPLT Finance Secretary Sarpo Terang.

Karbi Anglong district SP Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta said security forces recovered one AK-81 rifle, one Lethod gun, five Lethod shells, 61 rounds live ammunition in possession from him.

In separate incident, the Army troops of Red Horn division on Monday apprehended two MULTA militants in Dhubri district.

Defence spokesperson said based on the Army inputs, the troops had launched an operation at Daobhangi area in Dhubri district and nabbed the militant duo

The Army recovered two US made pistols and several rounds of live ammunition in possession of them.
