According to the reports, one 47-year-old woman took an Uber cab from Camac Street to her residence at Survey Park area in Kolkata at about 20:15 pm. on Tuesday.

The cab driver allegedly misbehaved with her near Santoshpur area under Survey Park Police Station in Kolkata.

The police later arrested cab driver Md. Qurban  and charged him under IPC sections 504, 506 and 509.

However, he will be produced to the court on Wednesday.

Reacting on the incident, Ashwin Dias, GM, Uber Kolkata, said: "In the case reported on 25th August 2015 involving an Uber driver partner, we understand that there was a verbal argument between the driver and rider about the route taken. The rider pressed the in-app SOS button which alerted our Incident Response Team and the police. The police immediately reached the location and took appropriate action. We have suspended the driver and we are assisting the Police in their investigation with all necessary information."
