Kolkata, Jun 3 (IBNS): The Director and Registrar of Kolkata's prestigious Satyajit Roy Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) resigned from there posts on Friday.

The SRFTI institute is under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Three faculties and four students of the institute have been suspended in connection with   sexual harassment complaints in recent times .

SRFTI's chairman Partha Ghosh told IBNS, "SRFTI is currently facing few problems. Director Debanjan Chakraborty and Registrar Anindya Acharya might decide not to continue their jobs, so they resigned."

According to Ministry of I&B sources, SRFTI's director Debanjan Chakraborty's resignation application has been accepted already.

Amaresh Chakraborty, who is the Dean (Administration) of SRFTI, will hold the post of institute's director, until someone is appointed as a full term director of the institution.
