Kolkata: Man stabs son as he disqualifies ISI entrance exam

Kolkata, Sept 12 (IBNS): A 60-year-old man on Monday committed suicide, after stabbing his son and wife, as his son failed to pass Indian Statistical Institute (ISI)'s entrance examination, reports said.

According to reports, retired government employee Biplab Banerjee's body was recovered from his flat at Sodepur Nilganj Road area under Khardah Police Station limits in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

His son, identified as Suman Banerjee, and wife- Tandra Banerjee- were rescued from the flat with severe deep injuries.

Locals claimed that the family was going through a turmoil after Biplab Banerjee's son failed to qualify ISI's viva voce test and the man took the step on Monday, amid severe inquietude.

Police also found a suicide from the flat, an official said.

Biplab Banerjee's body has been sent for post-mortem, while his wife and son have been admitted to Khardah Balaram Seba Mandir State General Hospital.
