Kolkata HC transfers Madan Mitra's bail plea to sessions court

Kolkata, May 15 (IBNS): Accepting the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)'s appeal, the Kolkata High Court on Friday directed to transfer the jailed West Bengal Transport and Sports Minister Madan Mitra's bail plea from Alipore district and session court to Banshall court in next 3 days.

Seeking the transfer of Madan Mitra's bail plea from Alipore court to any other court, the CBI had earlier filed a petition at the Kolkata High Court.

Accepting CBI's appeal,  Justice Ranjit Kumar Bag on Friday pronounced the verdict to transfer the case to Bankshall court.

After a marathon 5 hours of questioning, the CBI had arrested Madan Mitra  on Dec 12 in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
