Kolkata: Fire breaks out in fibre glass factory, no casualty

Kolkata, Aug 4 (IBNS): A major fire broke out in the Hindustan Fibre Glass Works in Kolkata's Dunlop area on Tuesday.

The flames were first seen at 3:45 pm on Tuesday from the fibre glass factory.

As many as 15 fire tender engines and the police from the Barrackpore police commissionarate have rushed to the spot.

The fire fighters are trying to bring the blaze under control.

Many houses and a petrol pump are located very close to the factory.

West Bengal fire minister Javed Ahmed Khan told IBNS: "We have sent 15 engines to the spot. Fire fighters are trying very hard to bring the fire under control. The fire would be brought under control very soon. The police have evacuated the houses located close to the factory. Nobody is inside the factory."

No casualties have been reported so far.

Traffic jam has been reported on the B. T. Road following the fire.
