Kolkata: Fire breaks out at two places, 1 killed

Kolkata, Nov 8 (IBNS): Major fire broke out at two different locations in Kolkata on Sunday which killed at least one person, reports said.

According to reports, a major fire broke out in North Point School building in Kolkata's Dumdum area around 3 am on Sunday. As many as five fire tender engines rushed to the spot and fire fighters fought for hours to bring the blaze under control.

One caretaker of the school, who was identified as Laxmikanta Bera (21), was rescued with burn injuries  from the building and rushed to hospital, where he was announced brought dead.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out in a printing press at Gurudas Dutta Garden Lane area in Kolkata's Ultadanga area around 4 am on Sunday.

At least eleven fire tender engines went to the spot and after few hours fire was brought under control.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

Fire department has started investigations into both cases to know the exact reason of the fire.
