Mumbai/Kolkata/IBNS: The Kolkata Police have arrested the mastermind wanted in the murder of corporate executive Subir Chaki from Mumbai, sources in the city police said on Monday.

According to officials, the main accused in the case, Vicky Haldar, along with his companion Subhankar Mondal was nabbed on Saturday night from the ground floor of an under-construction skyscraper located at Saint Xavier Street in Mumbai's Parel East, nearly two weeks after the crime was committed.

Police said the duo is being taken to Kolkata on a transit remand.

Earlier on Oct 17, Kilburn Engineering Limited's managing director, Subir Chaki (61), and his driver Rabin Mondal (65) were murdered in Subir's unoccupied ancestral house at Kankulia Road under Gariahat Police Station limits in south Kolkata.

Police have already arrested four accused, including one of the key conspirators of the murder- Vicky's mother Mithu Haldar.
