Kolkata blast: Another injured dies, death toll reaches three

Kolkata, Oct 15 (IBNS): The toll in Kolkata bomb blast rose to three as another injured person, who was undergoing treatment with severe burn injuries at R.G.Kar Medical College and Hospital in north part of the city, died in the state run hospital on Sunday late evening, about two weeks after the incident, reports said.

According to reports,a  nearly 50-year-old man from Odisha- Sarat Chandra Sethi, who worked in a city laundry and was staying at Nagerbazar's Rastraguru Avenue area, was declared dead at around 8 pm, 12 days after the socket bomb explosion took place.

Earlier on Saturday late night, a 38-year-old fruit vendor- Ajit Halder, who was also injured the blast, died at the same hospital, taking the death count to two. 
 
On Oct 2 morning, a socket bomb went off near a sweet shop at Nagerbazar Kajipara area in Kolkata's neighbourhood South Dumdum, leaving several persons seriously hurt.

An eight-year-old boy- Bibhas Ghosh, who was among the injured, was declared dead later in SSKM hospital while his mother, Sita Ghosh, is still undergoing treatment at the same state run hospital.

A police official said that few other persons, who were also hurt in the explosion, are still undergoing treatment at different state owned and privately run hospitals in the city. 

State CID and local police are investigating the matter parallelly while none has been arrested in connection with the explosion so far.
