Palakkad, Oct 28 (UNI) Three suspected Maoists, including a woman, were reportedly killed in an encounter with Thunderbolts commandos of Kerala Police in Agali forests of Palakkad district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Sreemathi, Suresh, both hailing from Chikamangalore in Karnataka and Karthik from Tamil Nadu, sources said.

The commandos were conducting the search operation in the area since early morning, following a tip-off.

During the search operation, the commandos found the camp and reportedly called out to the Maoist group to surrender. However, instead of surrendering, they began to attack the commandos.

The commandos retaliated and shot down three of them.

The bodies of the deceased were yet to be recovered, sources added.
