Kerala bypoll witnesses heavy voter turnout of 13.1%

Kochi/UNI: The Thrikkakara bypoll in Kerala witnessed a heavy voter turnout of 13.1% in the first two hours.

The voter turnout has crossed 13.1% at 9 am showing that 16,056 people have exercised their franchise.

Meanwhile, Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate Uma Thomas cast her vote in booth number 50 while CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate Jo Joseph cast his vote at booth number 140.

Talking to newspersons here, Uma Thomas said people will support the development dreams of her husband who always stood with the interest of people.

The LDF candidate claimed the people will vote in favour of the development agendas of the LDF Government.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate AN Radhakrishnan claimed the people who are well aware of the current social situation will support the BJP to defeat hidden communal appeasement policies of both the UDF and LDF.
