Kashmir: Youth killed, 4 injured in protest
Sopore, June 23 (IBNS): A civilian was killed and four others sustained injuries during a protest which erupted in Sopore town of Kashmir after an encounter ended in the Krankshivan colony area on Monday .
According to sources, after the encounter ended people in the area started protesting and resorted to stone pelting on police and other vehicles.
As a result, police and CRPF personnel used tear gas shells and firing to disperse protesters.
According to reports, a 30-year-old youth identified as Arshad Ahmad Shah of Sopore was hit in the abdomen.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Earlier in the day, a militant of Pakistan based terror group Lashker-e-Taiba was killed, while another terrorist managed to escape in a 19-hour long gunfight here.
