Kashmir websites taken off from Google news search results?

Srinagar, Nov 7 (IBNS) What seems to be online censorship by the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir, Google News Saturday apparently blocked Kashmir-based news websites from its search results on a day Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Srinagar, media reports said.

The news aggregator which selects up-to-date news from thousands of publications across the world is not displaying the news stories related to Kashmir published by the local media on Saturday, reported by Online News Portal Alternate Kashmir

Earlier in the day only the news stories published by the Indian media on Saturday related to Kashmir were available in the Google news search results. But now the Kashmir news search for latest news is not returning any results.

The netizens in the valley started experiencing the problem right after the mobile internet services resumed in the valley at 2 PM on Saturday, portal reports.

Authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar city from Friday on the eve of Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s visit at SK Stadium where he announced 80,000 Corer economic package.
