Kashmir: Wanted drug smuggler arrested in Baramulla, say police

Srinagar/UNI: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a wanted drug smuggler and recovered contraband substances from his possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The accused was identified as Sajid Ahmad Khan a resident of Mohura who was arrested along with 1Kg of contraband Charas like substances at Noorkhah Crossing during checking.

The vehicle in which he was travelling from Uri towards Boniyar was also seized, police said.

Police said that Sajid upon seeing the checking party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act registered in Police Station Boniyar and investigations set in motion, police added.
