Srinagar, June 9 (IBNS) : Normal life was hit in Kashmir valley as a strike, called by the Kashmir Separatists, was observed in protest against the killing of civilian by government forces in Shopian of South Kashmir earlier this week.

Shops, business establishments and educational institutions were closed and train services  from Banihal to Baramulla remained suspended.

The strike was  jointly called by the Hurriyat and JKLF factions.

Adil Farooq Magrey, 22,  was killed when forces opened fire on protesters who were trying to disrupt an anti-militancy operation in
Ganwapora village on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, The University of Kashmir (KU), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) have
postponed all the examinations scheduled for today, because of  the general strike.

Mobile internet services have already suspended in the valley as authorities feel there has been an attempt to spread fear and show security personnel in a bad light through online videos.
