Srinagar, Feb 12 (IBNS) : Two days after the deadly Sujwan terror attack, a  constable was killed in a  gunfight with suspected militants  after the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) foiled an attack on its camp in  Srinagar's  Karan Nagar area early on Monday, reports said.

According to reports, at  around 4am, a guard  of the camp located near the SMHS Hospital noticed two armed men moving towards the camp. “He fired, forcing them to flee from the bylanes,” media reports quoted a  CRPF spokesperson as saying.

As the militants could not enter the camp, they took refuge in some abandoned buildings nearby.   The CRPF cordoned off the area, after which there was an intermittent exchange of fire in which CRPF’s jawan Mujahid Khan was killed.

The deceased constable was associated with 49 battalion of the paramilitary force.

The fight is going till last reports  came in.

The attack comes two days after suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants attacked the Sunjuwan Army camp in Jammu. Five soldiers, a civilian and three militants were killed in the attack, while six soldiers and six civilians were reportedly injured
