Kashmir celebrates Shab-e-Miraj
Srinagar, Apr 5 (UNI) The Shab-e-Miraj celebrations continued for the second day on Friday in Kashmir Valley, where people organised seminars and visited shrine and other religious places.
Thousands of people, including women and children, joined prayers in mosques, shrine and other Khankhas and religious places in the Valley and Ladakh region during the intervening night of April 3 and 4.
The main congregation was held at Hazratbal shrine on the banks of Dal Lake, which houses Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad. Thousands of people, wearing warm and woolen clothes, including “pheran”, from different parts of the Valley besides Jammu and outside the State attended the prayers at the shrine, where ulemas highlighted the importance of Shab-e-Miraj.
The devotees after morning prayers “Fajr” had glimpse of the Holy Relic after Friday prayers as well. The devotees will have the glimpse of the Holy Relic after prayers during the day. The process of darshan of the holy Relic will continue after every prayers during the day.
Hundreds of vendors have set up their stalls selling their products around the shrine. The authorities have also established medical and other camps near the shrine, which have adequate power and water supply.
