Kashmir bypoll: Farooq Abdullah wins, defeats People's Democratic Party Nazir Ahmed Khan
Srinagar, Apr 15 (IBNS): In the crucial by-polls to Srinagar-Budgam parliamentary constituency, former Union Minister and National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah on Saturday defeated his closest competitor from People's Democratic Party Nazir Ahmed Khan.
The bypoll for the seat was conducted on Apr 9 and the repoll at some polling stations held on April 13 after the segment witnessed large scale protests.
A record low turnout of 7 per cent and violence had hit the day of voting recently.
Only 2 per cent voters turned out as voting for the second time occurred on Thursday.
