Kashmir attack: 3 soldiers killed

Pampore, Dec 17 (IBNS): Three army soldiers were killed in a suspected militants attack on an Army convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pampore town of Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday.

According to reports, heavily armed militants targeted army convoy in Kadlabal area of Pampore town.

“Militants fired on Army vehicle which was part of the convoy that was heading towards Srinagar from Jammu and it was 42 RR who came under attack in the afternoon,” a police official told IBNS.

He further said several army jawans received multiple injuries and was shifted to Badam-i-Bagh HQ in Srinagar for further treatment.

Army sources in Srinagar told IBNS, “Three soldiers lost their lives while on their way to hospital. More injured soldiers are under treatment."

Meanwhile, the Army and the Police have launched massive search operation in the area to nab the militants.
