Kalaburagi, Oct 15 (UNI) Gulbarga University has all of a sudden cancelled permission for a special lecture by former JNU Student union president Kanhaiya Kumar, at Dr B R Ambedkar study centre on October 15.

According to University Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Parimala Ambedkar, the scheduled special lecture was cancelled due to law and order problems in the vaersity campus.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Parimala also requested the police department to tighten the security in and around the University campus, after protest and counter-protest from rightwing and leftawing group have rocked the campus, from the last two days.

The Students of the University protested outside the VC's office in Kalaburagi, to allow Kanhaiya's lecture at the varsity on Monday. Sri Rama Sena has reportedly pressurised to withdraw the permission given for the special lecture of Kanhaiya in the varsity campus.

The Ambedkar Study Centre has organised the programme and invited Kanhaiya to deliver a lecture on the responsibility of youth in protecting the Constitution, on October 15.
