Karnataka: Five die as speeding car hits truck

Belagavi, Jun 2 (UNI) Five persons died and another in a road accident near Shrinagar area in this Karnataka city went out of control on Pune-Bengaluru NH 4 on Sunday.

Police commissioner Lokesh Kumar told UNI that the car was coming to Belagavi from Khohapur. Five persons died on the spot injured one person shifted to the private hospital.

Deceased all belongs to Aurangabad in Maharashtra state. Based on a telephone number of one of the dead, the police informed the relatives of the accident. All the dead are male members.

Following the road accident there was a brief stoppage of road traffic, which was cleared soon after, Lokesh Kumar said

The case has been registered at Malamarthi police station.
