Karnataka: Denied ticket, BJP MLA Ramdas refuses to meet party colleagues

Mysuru/UNI: Denied ticket, sitting BJP MLA SA Ramdas from Krishnaraja constituency, refused to meet MP Pratap Simha and TS Srivatsa, the party candidate for May 10 Karnataka assembly election in the state.

The incident took place on Monday night when the duo visited Ramdas' house situated at Vidyaranyapura.

He is reportedly upset over the BJP denying him a ticket.

The refusal to meet his party mates has caused ripples in state politics, especially ahead of upcoming elections in Karnataka.

On Saturday, supporters of Ramdas had gathered in large numbers in front of his residence and had raised slogans demanding the party ticket for him.

Ramdas has been elected four times from the Brahmin and Lingayat-dominated Krishnaraja constituency.

When asked about his next course of action, Ramdas said some parties had contacted him, but refused them. He said the party did not consider him for a cabinet berth multiple times despite winning from the constituency four times.

Ramdas considered BJP as his second mother, and said he would not go against it.
