Karnataka: Dalit nursing student admitted to hospital after ragging by seniors

Kozhikode, June 23 (IBNS): Five students of a nursing college in Karnataka have been booked in connection with the alleged ragging of a junior student from Dalit community, who has been admitted to hospital with severe stomach problems, reports said.
A case has been registered against the five senior students of Al Qamar College of Nursing at Gulbarga on the basis of the 19-year-old victim, who hails from Malappuram in Kerala.
 
According to police, the victim was allegedly forced to drink toilet cleaning lotion by her seniors, who were all from Kerala. As a result, she complained stomach pain and was admitted to hospital.
 
Doctors have suggested a major surgery as the chemical has damaged her food pipe.
