Karnataka Assembly Results: BJP surges ahead of Congress, JDS may play key role

Bangalore, May 15 (IBNS): The ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are fighting closely as the counting of votes for the crucial Karnataka Assembly polls is currently going on Tuesday.

As per latest trends on 9: 28 am, the BJP is leading in 87 seats while the Congress is ahead in 85.

JDS is leading in 40 seats.

Others are ahead in 1.

So far, results of 213 seats have come to light.

Results of 222, out of 224 seats, will be declared on Tuesday.

Polling was not held in two seats on Saturday.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is leading Badami seat. However, he is trailing in  Chamundeshwari seat.

He contested the polls from two seats.

BJP's key leader in the state BS Yeddyurappa is leading in Shikaripura seat.
