KAAC poll : BJP to declare its candidate list on May first week

Guwahati, Apr 21 (IBNS) : Keeping an eye on the Kabi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to declare its candidate list on the first week of May.

A top source of BJP’s Assam unit said the party has deeply looked into matter of candidate declaration.

“BJP will declare its candidate list for the 26 constituencies under the council on the first week of next month,” the source said.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Assam unit president Ranjit Das said that, several rounds of meeting had recently held regarding council polls and the party will declare the candidate list within short time.

BJP has engaged its 34 MLAs and leaders in each council constituency ahead of the polls.

The top source said that over 200 persons filed application in party office for seeking candidate and the state unit will decide to finalize the list.
