Agra, Feb 19 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday visited the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Trudeau became nostalgic and remembered the first time he visited the magnetic architecture.

It was in 1983 when he has visited Taj Mahal with his father and then Canadian premier Pierre Trudeau.

Trudeau and his family took time to take a picture infront of the Mughal creation.

"I was about Xav's age when I first visited the Taj Mahal almost 35 years ago... and it's amazing to be back with him & the family on Day 1 of our trip to India," the PM tweeted.

This is Trudeau's maiden visit to the country.

He has arrived in Delhi, the national capital of India, on Saturday evening.

He is accompanied by Canadian ministers like Navdeep Bains, Amarjeet Sohi, Bardish Chagger and Kirsty Duncan.

Trudeau will stay in India between February 17 and 23.

Trudeau's visit to India has a primary aim to develop and strengthen the trade relations between the two nations.

He will discuss the ways with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create good, middle class jobs for people of both the nations.

Both Trudeau and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi share a cordial relationship with each other.

Narendra Modi had paid a bilateral visit to Canada in April 2015.

The last visit of a Canadian Prime Minister to India was in November 2012.
