Journalist murder case: UP govt suspends 5 cops, no action against SP Minister
Lucknow, June 14 (IBNS): The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended five police officers in connection with the murder case of journalist Jagendra Singh's in Shahjahanpur district, reports said.
Policeman Sri Prakash, who is accused of allegedly murdering the journalist, is also among the suspended cops.
However, no arrests have been made so far in the case.
In the video, which has gone viral on the social media, Singh is seen naming UP minister Ram Murti Singh Verma and his goons.No action has been taken against SP minister Ram Murti Verma.
The family has alleged pressure by the SP leaders to drop the charges.
This comes after a group of policemen and Verma's aides allegedly barged inside Jagendra's house in and set him on fire earlier this month.
