Jignesh Mevani sharpens attack on Modi, calls PM cheater

Gandhinagar, Dec 21 (IBNS): Patidar leader Jignesh Mevani, who defeated Bharatiya Janata Party in recently concluded Gujarat poll, sharpened his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he dared to call the latter cheater literally.

In a tweet, Jignesh listed several promises made by the PM before the 2014 General Election which he alleges not to have been fulfilled after coming to power.

"Dear Trolls - Who promised 15 lakh rupees ? Who promised 2 crore jobs? Who promised no terrorism? Who promised no hike in petrol, diesel, gas cylinder? Who promised safety of dalits and minorities? Who promised waive off in farmers loans? #ModiCheatsIndians" Jignesh tweeted.

After winning his Vadnam seat, Jignesh said the Prime Minister has gone boring and he should go to Himalayas to retire, raising a streak of controversies.

Jignesh's win came as a relief to the Congress as it extended its support to the Patidar leader by not fielding any candidate in Vadnam constituency.

However, the Congress despite hurting Modi-Shah on their home turf Gujarat by denying them 100 seats, failed to restrain BJP's victory by capitalising on the 22 years of anti-incumbency.

In Gujarat poll, BJP got 99 seats while Congress managed to get 80 in a 182-member Assembly.
