Jharkhand seat: BJP nominates MJ Akbar for RS bypoll
New Delhi, June 21 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday nominated party leader MJ Akbar as its candidate for by-election to a Rajya Sabha seat from Jharkhand.
In a statement, the party said: "Honourable BJP president Amit Shah has nominated national spokesperson MJ Akbar as the party's candidate for the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha bypoll."
The bypoll will be held next month.
A noted journalist, he has worked with several publications in his career.
He had joined the BJP last year.
