Jharkahnd COVID-19: 1 dead, 17 positive, 1529 negative, results awaited for 366

Ranchi/UNI: So far a total of 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19 were detected in Jharkahnd with eight cases in Ranchi, six in Bokaro, two in Hazaribagh and one in Koderma.

The state recorded its first Coronavirus death on April 9 after the death of a 70-year-old man from Sadam of Gomia block died at the Bokaro General Hospital .

As per the latest data released by the health department, a total of 1,912 samples of suspected COVID-19 patients were sent for testing, out of which 1529 tested negative while results for 366 are awaited.

On Saturday a total of 383 samples were collected.

The health department has set up two dedicated hospitals for the Coronavirus patients at the state level with combined capacity of 155 non ICU beds and 30 ICU Beds with ventilators whereas at the district level 1449 non-CU beds and 209 ICU beds were identified. 

The total number of beds in quarantine centres across the state is 41,630.

The test of the samples are now being held in MGM Jamshedpur and RIMS Ranchi while efforts are on to commence the tests in Itki and PMCH Dhanbad.
