Jayalalithaa didn't suffer trauma or underwent wrong medication: Apollo

Chennai, Mar 6 (IBNS): The Tamil Nadu government on Monday released a statement citing Apollo Hospitals' treatment summaries that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had neither suffered trauma nor had she been given any wrong medication for a long period prior to her admission to the hospital.

State health secretary J Radhakrishnan issued a statement along with a treatment summary from the Apollo Hospitals.

"There were pre-existing comorbid conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthmatic bronchitis and hypothyroidism. But clearly the treatment report of Apollo Hospitals as well as that of AIIMS do not mention any evidence of trauma or any other event as alleged by certain political leaders," said Dr Radhakrishnan.

Earlier, former Speaker and senior AIADMK leader PH Pandian had alleged that Jayalalithaa's death was unnatural, making insinuation of a foul play by Sasikala, whose sudden rise in the party was opposed by many AIADMK leaders.
