Javadekar 'Terrorist remark': AAP challenges BJP to arrest Kejriwal

New Delhi/UNI: Responding to Union Minister Prakash Javadekar's 'Terrorist comment', Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday challenged BJP to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, if he is a terrorist.

"First, a BJP MP (Parvesh Saheb Singh Verma) called Arvind Kejriwal a terrorist, then Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar called him a 'monkey' and then Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath made fun of Kejriwal's health," Singh said in a press conference here.

"Today, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar again referred to Arvind Kejriwal as a terrorist. This is quite unbelievable that these kinds of remarks are being made in the capital of the country, while Parliament session is going on," he said.

"Despite an entire constitutional set-up being in place, the Election Commission being here, how is a Union Minister even allowed to make such a statement? And if Arvind Kejriwal indeed is a terrorist, I challenge the entire BJP to arrest him and put him behind bars. They have crossed all limits of decency in language.” Singh added.

Earlier in the day, Javadekar said that Arvind Kejriwal had once himself called him 'an anarchist' and there was not much difference between "an anarchist and a terrorist."

"There is a reason why Delhiites have turned away from Arvind Kejriwal. He is making an innocent face and asking people, 'Am I a terrorist?' You are a terrorist, there is plenty of proof. You had yourself said you are an anarchist; there is not much difference between an anarchist and a terrorist," Javadekar had said in a press conference here.

Taking a dig at the Javadekar's comment, Singh counted the Kejriwal-led Delhi government's works and asked, "Have you ever seen a terrorist doing such a work?"

"This is the CM, who provided senior citizens with opportunity to go on a Teerth Yatra, provided good education, health to the people of Delhi, free bus rides for women, who provided financial assistance to families of martyrs, who studied from IIT, left his job as a Revenue Commissioner and sat on a dharna for 15 days against corruption. Have you ever seen a terrorist doing Dharna against corruption?" Singh quipped.
