Janata Parivaar unites to fight BJP might
New Delhi, Dec 4 (IBNS) A new front called Samajwadi Janata Dal is mooted by the constituents of the Janata Parivaar to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s growing might as Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar here on Thursday said Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav would decide on the modalities of their merger.
"Mulayam Singh Yadav has been tasked to take decisions on the merger and programme of the new party," said JD-U leader Nitish Kumar.
"We have decided to come together," said Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, RJD chief Lalu Yadav and INLD leader Abhay Chautala on Thursday met at the residence of Mulayam Singh Yadav in New Delhi.
Kumar said the election pledges are not being kept by the ruling party and if the Opposition is united the voice against the ruling government will be stronger."
Last month also Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav and HD Deve Gowda had met Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence from where possibly the idea of a united front emerged.
All of them belonged to the former Janata Party.
