Jammu-Srinagar highway to be closed for 3 days

Jammu, Oct 8 (IBNS) The 350- km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway will remain closed for three days starting from Thursday due to urgent repairing of the road.

According to IGP Traffic, one portion of hillside at Gangroo (Ramsoo) has developed cracks and needs urgent repairs while the BEACON authorities have recommended closing down of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway for three days.

According to an officer , the Srinagar-Jammu national high shall remain closed on Oct, 9,10 and 11 and no movement of vehicular traffic  will be allowed on these days.

However, to facilitate the passengers, transportation of fruit and essential commodities, the passenger service vehicle (LMVs only), empty oil tanker, empty trucks and fruit load carriers (medium size) can use Mughal road from Srinagar to Jammu after getting clearance from the concerned district administration.

"Similarly all type of vehicles of the above said category intending to move to Valley can use Synthan Top- Kishtwar route on these days," the statement said.
