New Delhi/UNI: Security forces busted a major Al-Badr terror nexus and apprehend four terrorists and three terror associates along with war-like stores in a series of coordinated joint operations on Friday night and Saturday morning in Kashmir.

Based on a specific input, a search operation was launched by a team of the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir police in Rawchha village of Rafiabad region in which three terrorists were nabbed when they were in a meeting to plan attacks on locals and security forces, the Indian Army said.

The terrorists were identified by the police as Warish Ahmad Tantray, Amir Sultan Wani and Tariq Ahmad Bhat of Al-Badr outfit, they were in possession of warlike stores and Rs 2 lakh, the army added.

The subsequent interrogation of the apprehended terrorists led to a second specific search operation in Mawar, Handwara leading to the apprehension of three terror associates identified by police as Mohd Ashraf Malik, Mohd Afzal Thoker and Shabir Ahmed Shah.

War-like stores and Rs 1,86,500 were recovered from them.

Another joint operation was launched based on emerging details in Seelu area of Sopore where another Al-Badr terrorist namely Ashraf Nazir Bhat was apprehended with war-like stores, the army said.
