Jammu: Fire breaks out in SBI branch

Jammu/UNI:  A major fire broke out on Monday in the complex of State Bank of India branch here in Trikuta Nagar area.

"Alarm was raised by some people after they saw smoke coming out from third floor of the SBI branch near RBI office on Monday morning," police here said.

They said that seven fire tenders, six from Gandhi Nagar Fire Station and one from Gangyal station, were immediately pressed into service.

"The fire broke out on the third floor and the fire fighters with the help of ladders, fire fighting gadgets, water canons controlled the flames from spreading to the nearby RBI headquarter," said police.

They further added that the bank record reportedly destroyed in the fire but no injury has been reported.
