Jammu and Kashmir: Two civilians injured in grenade attack in Budgam

Srinagar/UNI: Two civilians were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a security force party in central Kashmir district of Budgam.

Official sources told UNI that militants lobbed a grenade at security force deployment in Pakherpora market in Budgam on Monday.

However, they said the grenade missed the target and exploded at a distance.

“Two civilians received minor injuries in the blast,” they said, adding the militants managed to escape during to the chaos created due to the blast.

They said the injured were rushed to a hospital.

“Additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers,” they added.

This is the third militant attack in less than 24 hours in Kashmir valley. A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was injured in a grenade attack on a Power Grid station in the summer capital, Srinagar on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, three CRPF jawans and a civilian were on Monday killed in a militant attack on naka party at Handwara in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.
