| @indiablooms | Oct 26, 2022, at 08:56 pm

Srinagar: A soldier was injured in a gun battle in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, official sources said.

They said the fighting broke out in a forest area of Sultanpora Kandi when security forces were conducting an operation against militants.

“In the initial gunfight, one soldier has been injured,” an officer said, adding that a fierce gun battle was on.

The sources said a top militant commander is believed to be trapped in the area.

Earlier, security forces foiled an infiltration bid and killed a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant near the Line of Control in Kupwara district.
