The Indian Railways conducted a successful load test of the world’s highest railway bridge over the River Chenab in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

The cable-stayed Anji Khad Railway Bridge is the world’s highest railway bridge and part of the Srinagar railway line, reported Greater Kashmir.

The Railways is scheduled to make the Srinagar-Jammu railway line fully operational.

Officials told the news portal that on Friday, a goods carrier train was moved over the railway bridge as part of a load test.

Many other tests on the bridge and the Katra-Reasi railway stretch were earlier conducted by keeping the focus on safety protocols.
