Jammu and Kashmir: 3 terrorists killed by security forces in Ramban, hostage rescued

Ramban, Sept 28: At least three terrorists, who had taken a civilian as a hostage in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, were killed by security forces on Saturday, media reports said.

According to media reports, one Army jawan was killed during the encounter.

“All three terrorists were neutralized, but we lost a soldier and two policemen were injured in the encounter,” IGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. 

The hostage was rescued by security forces.

In another incident, at least two suspected terrorists were killed by security forces during an encounter in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Saturday, official sources said.

According to them, an encounter ensued between the militants and security forces at Gangbal forest in Ganderbal district, during a Cardon and Search Operation (CASO).

So far, two militants have been killed and the operation was still going on, when the reports last came in, they further said.

Further details were awaited, the sources added.
