Jaipur, Jul 2 (IBNS): At least three people were reported dead after a SUV lost control and rammed into an auto on Friday night, reports said.
Police have arrested Siddharth Maharia, who was allegedly driving the vehicle. Maharia is the son of Sikar MLA Nand Kishore Maharia.

The accused and his cousin, Jayant, who was accompanying him, was also arrested.

The incident took place at around 1:50 a.m. and apart from killing three people, it also injured one.

Hindustan Times quoted a police station official as saying, "Two of the deceased have been identified as Jethalal and Kailash, while the other man couldn’t be identified. Another man, Anil, who was with them in the auto, sustained injuries and was admitted to the trauma centre of SMS Hospital."

Deputy commissioner of police Manish Agarwal said that they were running tests to ascertain if the two were driving under the influence.

"Prima facie it appears that Siddharth was driving the car although more can be said after further investigation. Currently medical tests are being conducted to ascertain whether they were under the influence of alcohol," he added.

Agarwal also said that they have lodged an FIR and will decide upon the sections later but chances of Section 304 was likely to be imposed.

"An FIR has been lodged in this regard and after we receive the medical reports, relevant sections of the IPC will be decided. Chances are that the case will be registered under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder)," Agarwal said.
