Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata's prestigious Jadavpur University (JU) on Thursday held counting and announced the results of its students' unions' election, which was conducted peacefully on Wednesday after a gap of over three years.

Following the decade-old trend, Democratic Students' Front (DSF) and We The Independent (WTI) registered a massive victory in JUSU's Engineering and Science faculties respectively when BJP's students' wing ABVP got a 'decent' number of votes in its first appearance in the Left dominated university.

In the Engineering faculty, of the total 1405 casted votes, winner DSF got 1167 votes where ABVP ended up in the second position (115 votes), downing CPI-M's students' organization, SFI, to the third place (70 votes).

Independent students' organization, WTI, recorded a massive win in the Science faculty where SFI held the second position.

This year, again, West Bengal's ruling TMC's students' wing, TMCP, could not mark a satisfactory result in the JUSU polls.

Meanwhile, complete result of JU's Arts faculty is still undeclared as the counting is currently underway where DSA is giving a tough fight with SFI, according to the last update came in.
